UGA AMS members with The Weather Channel’s Michael Lowry in 2014

WHO WE ARE

The UGA student chapter of the American Meteorological Society is a student run organization open to all persons. We sponsor activities such as speakers, field trips, cookouts and other exciting events. The emphasis of the chapter is to promote the atmospheric sciences among its members and the local area.

OUR PURPOSE

We are here to give students and faculty alike the opportunity to discuss and enjoy the weather and atmospheric sciences outside of a classroom setting.

HOW TO JOIN

Want to join UGA AMS? If you are interested in joining our chapter, please send us an email with your name, major, and year in school or simply come to our next scheduled meeting. In addition to participating in our local chapter, we recommend joining the the national AMS chapter. Join here for an annual fee of $20 and enjoy a monthly subscription to Bulletin of the AMS (BAMS) and special student member benefits!
